Laboratory Technician VET, specialising in chemistry

During your apprenticeship at METAS as a Laboratory Technician, Federal Diploma of Vocational Education and Training (VET), specialising in chemistry, you will learn how to carry out chemical analyses precisely and check the quality of foodstuffs and pharmaceutical ethanol. You take measurements and analyse samples using state-of-the-art laboratory equipment.

Your education

Your duties

• You plan measurements, take them and log the results.
• You provide support with calibrations and other work in the laboratory.
• You perform chemical, physical and sensory analyses (e.g. for water and alcohol-containing products).
• You will familiarise yourself with different laboratory instruments and use them.
• You examine air pollutants as well as gas mixtures and aerosols.
• You are in contact with customers and work in quality assurance.

• Secondary school qualification with good grades in mathematics and natural sciences
• Curiosity, willingness to learn and personal initiative

• Precise working methods and craftsmanship
