Gas analysis includes the precise analysis of gases and gas mixtures. It enables the reliable measurement of emissions, process gases and trace gases in the environment, industry, medicine and research.

Particles and aerosols have an impact on health and the environment. At METAS, we enable traceable measurement of particles, thus contributing to the monitoring of air quality and correct production processes.

Since June 2023, the Federal Institute of Metrology METAS has been the globally recognised central calibration laboratory (CCL) of the Global Atmosphere Watch (GAW) programme for halogenated volatile organic compounds (VOCs).
