• What are metrological reference materials and artefacts?

  Reference materials (or references) and artefacts are of key importance in metrology. They are used to check and calibrate analysis methods and measuring instruments. They guarantee the accuracy, reliability and metrological traceability of measurements and enable nationally and internationally comparable measurement results across different laboratories.
