Switzerland’s gravity zones
Every new gravitational scale placed on the market in Switzerland must be assigned to the relevant gravity zone and clearly labelled. The gravity zones are regulated in the directives relating to the FDJP ordinance on non-automatic weighing instruments.
Due to its particularly complex topography, Switzerland has been divided into four gravity zones for the adjustment and calibration of automatic and non-automatic scales. Each zone has a defined reference value.
All municipalities are assigned to one or more gravity zones by name and postcode in a database.
