Partnerships
Partnerships are an important tool for research and innovation in today’s complex world. New ideas and relevant developments arise from the interaction between people and institutions and research, industry and society.
Opportunities for collaboration
Depending on the objective, we use different forms of collaboration:
Research partnerships
METAS contributes its metrological expertise, whether in third-party funded basic research projects, in applied research as a research partner within the framework of an Innosuisse project or in contract research work that is directly financed by industry or government. In this way, we contribute to the further development of scientific foundations, new key technologies and to overcoming socio-political challenges.
In any case, we ensure that METAS retains its independence and remains committed to an objective, scientific and technical assessment at all times.
Cooperation within the framework of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)
A specific project is not always the starting point for collaboration. Often, the common interest in exploiting synergies and establishing long-term collaboration is at the forefront.
In such cases, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) confirms the willingness to work together.
We currently have MoUs with the University of Bern and various national metrology institutes.
Designated institutes
When it comes to metrological tasks outside our areas of activity, designated institutes can take on defined measurement and calibration tasks. This makes efficient use of existing infrastructure and expertise.
METAS currently has three designated institutes with internationally recognised expertise.
Consultations
Finally, we also make our broad expertise available in the form of consulting services and expertise.
METAS helps you to solve your metrological challenges efficiently, accurately and with calculable degrees of uncertainty, or provides you with an objective assessment of a situation.
If you are interested in taking advantage of METAS’ expertise and working with us, do not hesitate to get in touch with us.
